Description of the courses
American Tribal Style®
The FatChanceBellyDance® format (previously American Tribal Style® - ATS®) is a modern belly dance style created by the Director of FatChanceBellyDance®, Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman. The main feature of the FatChanceBellyDance® format is group improvisation. FCBD® movements are inspired by the folkloric dances of the Middle East, North Africa, Spain and India. FCBD® is an improvisation method which, using a precise vocabulary of movements and keys, allows dancers to communicate during dance. Knowledge of the FCBD® vocabulary allows dancers from all over the world to improvise together even without knowing each other or speaking the same language. Although it is a modern dance, it is extremely rooted in ancestral dances, with the use of costumes, music, cymbals, movements and the interaction between the dancers. Attention is in fact placed on team work, support and respect for companions.
FatChanceBellyDance®, FCBD®, ATS® and American Tribal Style®, are federally registered trademarks of FatChanceBellyDance, Inc. For more information, please visit www.FCBD.com/about/legal.shtml
Fusion bellydance

The fusion technique involves an intense physical preparation based on elements of yoga and muscle strengthening and on the study of muscle contractions and isolations of the various parts of the body to work with precision on staccato or fluid and serpentine movements.
